This week has been a week of absolute and very successful geekery. I've managed to get a box up and running out of spare parts and install Linux distro,
Fedora Core 4, on it. I then got my head around Rsync, configured key authentication between my mac and said Linux box and then setup a crontab to run it all automatically every night.
For those whom this sounds understandably ridiculous it basically means that my mac will backup it's entire disk to the linux box, every night, without me even having to think about it. Even better than this though is the fact that now I know how to do it I can conceivably get the Linux box to automatically Rsync it's contents to my websever!
In other geek news, I bought an additional Airport Express Base Station with Airtunes today. That, when combined with Rogue Amoeba's new
Airfoil software, means I can stream music wirelessly, and in sync, to multiple stereo's in our house. Get In.
